MAKE-UP: Eyeliner
Source: KiwiBoxEdition: BritneySpears.bz Eyeliner is possibly the most versatile piece of make-up to date! It can be used to achieve practically any look you want it to. But how do you make it work for you? First off, you need to decide what type of eyeliner you can use. The most common type of eyeliner is the simple pencil eyeliner. These give a defined yet soft outline to the eye. You could also use liquid eyeliners. These give loads more definition and really make your eye make-up stand out. However, liquid eyeliners can be a tad difficult to apply. If you are a beginner, I suggest you start with pencil style eyeliners. Second of all, you have to decide which colour you are going for. Lots of people like black eyeliner. However, for a softer look, try a brown or grey eyeliner. White eyeliner is well known for making your eyes look bigger, but it can look a little bit harsh so it’s better for eyeliner experts. Gold and silver eyeliners look really cool for parties. Blue eyeliner blends well with blue eyes and peach eyeliner makes blue eyes really stand out. Green eyeliner will blend well with green eyes, but burgundy eyeliner is what it really needed to make green eyes stand out (dark brown eyes are the opposite). Light brown eyes blend well with a bit of bronze eyeliner but really stand out with plum eyeliner. Now that you know what the colours are like, the choice is yours! The next step is choosing how to apply your eyeliner. Depending on how you apply your eyeliner, you can make your look so many different things. First of all, apply a base eyeshadow. Next, close the eye you want to apply the eyeliner to and stretch it out slightly with the opposite hand. This will make it easier to apply the eyeliner. Sweep on your eyeliner. It should be applied as near to the lashes as possible. If you want to do a line under your bottom lashes, try looking up as you do so. By the way, if you are using liquid eyeliner, it is advised that you only do the top line, as the bottom line can look very harsh. The classic way to wear eyeliner is to just do a simple line (from the beginning of your eye to the end) over your top lashes. However, this is not the only way to wear it. You can extend eyeliner beyond the outside of your eye for a 50’s inspired look. You could start the line half way across your eye (at the pupil) and continue the line out to the outer edge of your eye. You could do a line of little dashes or dots instead of a completed solid line. You could do one colour of eyeliner for your top lashes and another colour for your bottom line. The choices are endless! If you like the way liquid eyeliner looks in general, but just find it a little bit too harsh, here is a tip for you. Once you are done applying your eyeliner, dust over it with some eyeshadow. Or, if you find your eyeliner comes off easily, try coating it with a dusting of translucent powder. If you’ve made a bit of a mistake with your eyeliner, don’t panic. Get your hands on a cotton wool bud and dip it in some eye make-up remover. With this little combo, you can clear up any blotches you may have made.
