Britney's Album Called Shock Your Mind?
worldpop reported that Britney Spears' third album, the follow-up to her nine million selling Oops!... I Did It Again, is to be released in America on 6 November. Jive Records have not yet confirmed the record's title but speculation is increasing among fans on the internet that it is called Shock Your Mind. Like Britney's first two albums, the new record has been recorded predominantly in Sweden. However, Britney has followed in the footsteps of her boyfriend, 'N Sync's Justin Timberlake, by working with dance producer BT, who produced 'N Sync's current single, Pop. Britney Spears is expected to announce details of a second world tour to coincide with the release of the album. Already confirmed for the tour is the star's 18 November concert at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The show will air live on America's HBO cable network. Britney Spears is also to be involved in a US MTV special celebrating 20 years of pop music. And, in other Britney news, an obsessive fan of the teen queen stole a cardboard cut-out of her from his local 7-Eleven store. The display was in the store to advertise Pepsi with whom Britney has signed a lucrative sponsorship deal. If he had purchased 12 cans of the drink, the man would have been entitled to a free poster of his heroine but it was clearly the cut-out he'd set his heart on: after dragging it from the shop, he leapt into his car and sped off down the motorway!

Britney Is The Most Powerful Woman In Showbiz
worldpop reported that woman's magazine Bazaar rates Britney as the most powerful woman in showbiz, putting her above such figures as Oscar-winning actress Julia Roberts, Oprah Winfrey and even one of Britney's own idols, Madonna. The singer, who has recently turned her hand to acting, says that power daunts her. 'When people say I'm powerful it scares me in a way. If you saw what I see when I wake you wouldn't think that either.' The starlet graces the cover of the August edition of Bazaar magazine in a tight black outfit and responds to her elevated position by saying 'Power is not something that you go around flaunting. You have the most power when you don't show it.' Spears is currently trying to grab life a little more, admitting she's a workaholic. 'I'm all about work and I put 100% into everything I do, but lately I just want to have fun.'

Britney Fan Steals 7-11 Pepsi Display
HometownAnnapolis.com reported that as pop recording star Britney Spears sings, she's not that innocent. Apparently, neither are some of her fans. A man in his early 20s stole the curvaceous blonde's cardboard likeness from an Edgewater 7-Eleven early Monday. The man walked into the store at 3200 Solomons Island Road about 1:30 a.m. and grabbed the head-to-waist likeness, which was part of a Pepsi display, county police said. The man then walked out of the store and drove off in a gray car, police said. According to employee Linda Mock, customers buying a 12-pack of the soda were entitled to a free Pepsi poster of Ms. Spears from a container connected to the display. Most people were just happy with the posters, but this man apparently wanted to make sure he got to take the cardboard Britney home once the promotion concluded. "All that person had to say ... was that he would like to have it," Ms. Mock said. But the theft of the cutout -- worth only $10 -- didn't surprise her. "We've had peoplle come and steal our charity jar and everything," Ms. Mock said.

Britney's Bodyguard Ushered Away A Reporter
Worldpop reported that a reporter who tried to interview Britney Spears at Saturday's Pepsi car race before she gave the command to start the event become involved in a scuffle with one of the star's bodyguards. Britney looked on as the burly bodyguard ushered away the reporter Patrick Wright from the Daytona Beach Journal preventing him from asking questions. A race official stepped in to try and cool down tempers and the reporter and bodyguard were later spotted shaking hands. The incident was the only hitch in Britney's day out, where she was accompanied by family and friends, her boyfriend Justin Timberlake and his 'N Sync bandmate, Lance Bass. Clad in a skintight red, white and blue leather jumpsuit with the Pepsi logo emblazoned on the front and back, Britney's job as Grand Marshall was to shout, 'Gentlemen, start your engines!' at the beginning of the 43rd annual Pepsi 400 NASCAR Race at the Daytona International Speedway track. Around 200,000 race fans gathered at the Florida event while millions more across America watched it on TV. However, Britney wasn't welcomed by all at the race. She was snubbed by singer Edwon McCain who sang the national anthem before the race. When asked if he wanted to meet 'another musician,' McCain replied, 'She's no musician, she's a pop star.' Britney was also pelted with a few crumbled paper cups as she made her way to a photoshoot and one onlooker claimed she looked bored as she, Justin and Lance were introduced to drivers in the race.

WENN reported that 'N SYNC hunk Justin Timberlake is set to follow his lover Britney Spears onto the silver screen - with a role in the film musical Rent. The Bye Bye Bye singer has approached by legendary director Spike Lee to star in a film adaptation of the late Jonathan Larson's Broadway show, which won the Best Musical Tony award and Pulitzer prize in 1996. Reports in Hollywood say the boybander has already auditioned for the role of MARK, the filmmaker in the alternative musical, which deals with homelessness, drugs, AIDS and homosexuality. Justin is so keen on the role that he's been to see the live show, accompanied by the pop princess, and afterwards met the cast and crew.

Britney's Former Publicist Arrested
WENN reported that Lizzie Grubman, a publicist who has represented Britney Spears was arrested on Sunday for backing her car into a crowd of partygoers and then fleeing the scene. The alleged incident, which is reported to have occurred outside a Long Island, New York, nightclub early on Saturday, left 16 people suffering injuries, ranging from bruises to broken bones. Grubman, 30, pleaded not guilty to charges of assault, reckless endangerment and leaving an accident scene.

As this year's back-to-school countdown begins, parents plan to spend $118 on school supplies, according to a recent survey by Capital One, one of the nation's leading credit card providers. One question they asked was "Who's the Ultimate Teen Shopping Buddy?" However, when it comes to sharing their shopping experience, teens aspire to hang out with the stars. If given the opportunity, 56% of teens polled would like to go back-to-school shopping with a pop music celebrity, whereas 37% would choose a sports star as the ultimate shopping buddy. What happend at the NASCAR even?
They just did a really quick interview with Britney on the NASCAR preview for tonight. She was wearing a white Pepsi racing suit with a bunch of different patches all over it. It looked ok. She had on big hoop earings and her hair was down. She said that her whole family was there and they were just relaxing. They asked if she's been practicg "Gentleman Start Your Engines" and she said jokingly that she was gonna go to the bathroom and practice in the mirror. They made it sound like she wasn't going to be singing the National Anthem. Oh well. At least she's there. Oh yeah, it's going to be in front of 250,000 people so she said she was a little nervous. Just thought I'd let you know!

Steve Hood taught the Oops I Did It Again hitster in her home town in Louisiana, and now has a fitness video sweeping through America. He says of the singer, "She came to my classes before she was famous and we worked on her stage presence and choreography. "She was hard-working. And she inspired me - I saw someone who was so young who was going for it and I knew that I had to as well!"

(WorldPop) - Dan Aykroyd, who plays Britney Spears' dad in her debut movie "What Friends Are For," was impressed with Spears' on-screen prowess as well as her behind-the-scenes involvement with the film. Aykroyd said that Spears hired the writer, the producer and the director of the film, and also had a hand in the casting. As for her acting talent, Aykroyd said she has the "essence of greatness." "Friends," which is due out in February, sees Spears' character Lucy head to Los Angeles with two of her high school friends to compete in a music contest. Britney Kicks Off Pepsi 400
The Associated Press reported that Britney Spears will be in Daytona Beach this weekend to serve as grand marshall of the Pepsi 400 NASCAR race. No word yet on her outfit, but the fixture of Pepsi-Cola's current advertising blitz will grab the mic and kick off the race by telling drivers to "start their engines." Pepsi spokesman Dave DeCecco says Spears "was the obvious choice." The race will be telecast on NBC at 8:00 p.m. EST.

WENN reported thaT BRITNEY SPEARS hates being leered at by drunken men - because she doesn't give out a sexy image.
The midriff-baring singer, famous for her revealing outfits, says she hates the way men stare at her when she's out clubbing, and can't understand why they can relate her to sex. Spears says, "I have to say, the older fans are creepy. I am 100 per cent against anything sleazy - I don't believe I give off that image." Although she has help in choosing her wardrobe, the CRAZY singer admits she personally picks nearly all of the outfits she wears in her videos and on stage. She says, "Although I have a stylist, I choose my own outfits for videos, award ceremonies, performances and I like to help select styles for fashion shoots. "I love experimenting with styles and buying clothes from different designers."

Britney Hacker Faces The Music
vnunet.com reported that the hacker who defaced the official Britney Spears website on Friday has apologised for the incident, but not before being slammed by fellow members of the security site he works for. At the end of last week a hacker variously calling himself Wouter or Grazer defaced britneyspears.com, leaving a link to a message declaring his love for the pop princess and his anger at the site's administrators for ignoring his warnings about security. But by posting the message on Digit-Labs, the security site he works for, he inadvertently dropped his colleagues in it too. One other member of Digit-Labs, teleh0r, who is responsible for the site's upkeep, expressed his anger at Wouter/Grazer in an email. "This was in fact a hack commited [sic] by grazer from Digit-Labs," he wrote. "Digit-Labs dislike what he has done, and he is suspended." The original message left on the Digit-Labs site by Wouter has also been modified by the man himself and is available here. It reads: "i feel sorry about what happened, i will take a step back from the scene i hope you people understand the guys of digit-labs have nothing to do with it, they are friendly white hats, i screwed up, i'm sorry." The Britney Spears website has since been fixed and the Digit-Labs crew stressed that it was "nothing which was done by Digit-Labs" as a group, and that the other members "had no knowledge that this would happened [sic]". Digit-Labs condemned the act as "childish, wrong and illegal". Thanks Joakim.

New research from BMRB International's Youth TGI report looks at the figures 7 to 10-year-olds admire the most. And it has revealed a shock result. The most popular hero by a long way was not the likes of Madonna or David Beckham, but their own parents, admired the most by 38% of the 6,000 children who chose from a list of 34 heroes. Britney Spears managed second place with 30%, followed by and Robbie Williams in third, admired by 28%. These findings are key to successful marketing and sponsorship campaigning. The fact that parents have scored highest shows how difficult it is to choose an appropriate brand spokesperson.
